“To my Aftershock friends & family – I am so saddened to inform you that we will not be able to perform at Aftershock today.
“During our Los Angeles show this past week, I fell on stage and sustained a significant injury to my knee. On top of this, a few members of our band and crew have been impacted by Covid, and as a result, we are unable to perform.
“The health and safety of our team and the festival attendees is of utmost importance to us.
“We are deeply disappointed by this situation but are hoping for a fast recovery for everyone involved.
“Thank you for an amazing tour – and we can’t wait to rock out with you soon.”
This is not the first time Taylor has had to cancel performances due to medical issues. In 2012, Taylor underwent surgery for acute laryngitis and had to take a break from performing in order to recuperate.
Fans of Taylor and the Aftershock festival have been quick to send their best wishes to Taylor on social media, wishing him a speedy recovery.
For now, it remains unclear when Taylor will be able to resume performing. However, it is evident that Taylor is taking the necessary measures to ensure his health and wellbeing, and that he is putting the needs of his audience first. We wish Corey Taylor a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back onstage soon.
